The wedding will be celebrated at La Mariposa Hotel with a reception to follow.
The Bride & Groom will stay at La Mariposa from Friday, Jan. 22 - Monday, Jan. 25, and would love all of their guests to do the same!

The Catch of a Lifetime 🐠
Alexis & Tyler finally crossed paths because of a fishing tournament in the summer of 2024. Alexis needed a new fishing captain for an all-women’s tournament, and ever since their first time fishing together, they have been absolutely inseparable.
Once Tyler was hooked, he spent 8 months planning with Alexis’s closest friends: on December 19, 2025, Tyler organized having all of their local island loved-ones present to surprise Alexis with the sweetest Christmas proposal. They were fittingly dressed as the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who. It was easy to distract Alexis with a friend’s dog so everyone could get the proposal set up. In shock, Alexis was only capable of nodding yes because she was absolutely speechless.
Alexis & Tyler toured Costa Rica shortly after with both of their mothers to plan this wedding week, and could not be more thrilled to have you join! If you are unable to attend, there will be a celebration on Padre Island after they return.
The Bride
Alexis Kadonsky
Long-time fisherwoman and entrepreneur: Alexis started her web development business nearly 20 years ago and is a huge dog enthusiast and foster. In fact, on one of her previous trips to Costa Rica, Alexis brought back their dog (now Tyler's dog- Alexis is chopped liver), Kesi, who was found surviving in the jungles of Costa Rica.
She has traveled across 23 countries in search of fishing, art, animals, & unexpecedtly hooked her love, Tyler, right on her island back home in Texas 🧡
The Groom
Tyler Burns
A Navy Veteran turned fishing captain: Tyler has been dominating the fishing industry for over 20 years, and while he's always loved animals, he has become an amazing foster dog dad with 13 dogs in his first year of fostering.
While the first two loves of his life, his daughters, are unable to attend these celebrations, he is ecstatic to expand his family with Alexis (and all the future foster dogs) 🐕

Catamaran Cruise
Kick off wedding week with a catamaran cruise along the Manuel Antonio coast. Snorkeling, food, and alcohol included.
Wed, Jan. 20
Rainmaker Jungle Hike
Explore hanging bridges, waterfalls, natural swimming holes, and lush rainforest trails.
Thurs, Jan. 21
Reel Burnin' Love Fishing Tournament
Alexis & Tyler met because of a fishing tournament, so it's only fitting we throw one!
Celebrate Alexis’s Birthday with a fishing tournament in one of the fishing capitals of the world!
Weigh-in to follow at the famous Marina Pez Vela in nearby, Quepos!

Welcome Beach Party
All wedding guests are invited to join us for a beachside welcome party & bonfire after our rehearsal. Food & alcohol on us!
Sun, Jan. 24
Farewell Brunch
Before everyone heads home, join us for an à la carte farewell brunch to relax, recap the week, and enjoy one last meal together in Costa Rica.

We’re so excited to celebrate with you in Costa Rica. This is not our formal RSVP. We’re gathering an early headcount, mailing addresses, and interest in wedding-week activities as we begin planning. Your answers are just to help us plan and can absolutely change later.

For those who are unable to make it to our beautiful Costa Rican wedding, don't worry, we are having a beach celebration on Padre Island after we get back!
While families are welcome to enjoy Costa Rica with us, the wedding celebration and fishing in the Thursday tournament will be adults only. We have organized babysitters for hire as needed. More details to come with the formal invitation.
